When we returned to the front of the main hall, our first grade friends were already there along with Daejung oppa and Minji eonni.
"Oh, here you are," said Daejung oppa with a smile.
"We're not late, are we?" Jiwoo asked when we joined the group.
"No. You guys are very punctual. Let's start the tour," decided Minji eonni, "everyone ready? Let's walk... where first, Daejung?"
Daejung oppa scratched his head, "I'm confused too. Maybe head west first, then?”
We all walked following Daejung oppa and Minji eonni's steps, once again circling the main hall.
“You already know the three buildings that we often pass by. Greenhouse 104, room 105 and room 106. If we go east, there is room 107. These four rooms, with the main hall and Chaeksong Dungeon are connected to the underground for five floors," explained Minji eonni, "but as we said last night, below the main hall there is only a kitchen and the four floors below it are not play areas. For our own dungeon, five floors down means the recreation room, rooms on floors one to four, so apart from the recreation room door, there are no other doors that open to the other floors of the dungeon. The dungeons under the greenhouse are also usually unused, but those under rooms 105, 106 and 107 are mostly used, almost all of them are for potions classes. Our own potions class on Wednesday uses the first floor dungeon in room 106. So that's about it."
"Behind this group of rooms," said Daejung oppa while spreading his arms in front of room 105, "in a straight line to the north, behind greenhouse 104 there is room 206, room 308, room 407; behind room 105 there is room 207, room 309 and room 408; behind room 106 there is room 208, room 310 and room 409; behind room 107 is room 209, then an empty area, and at the back there is room 410. So the 11 rooms that we mentioned are in the swapping area. This means that their position changes every day according to their mood.”
“Change?” Yunsoo asked, “can they walk?”
"They don't walk physically like humans and there's still no logical explanation, but Professor Lee Seungwoo said, he once watched them and every time at 12 at night, they just moved," answered Minji eonni while shrugging her shoulders, "he was once deliberately in room 310 and as soon as he came out after 12 at night, he left the room that was supposed to be room 410, even though it was clear he had indeed come out of room 310, his belongings were still in order."
I swallowed hard. All the buildings are so similar and they still move as they please?
"We suggest that if you have a class that uses 11 rooms, you should come early so you don't be late for class," suggested Daejung oppa.
Next to me, Kyubong pulled out the lesson schedule parchment.
"Charms class on Monday in room 308 and History of Magic class on Monday in room 207," he complained.
"Oppa and eonni," Jiwoo raised her hand, "what do A and B mean in the explanation of our lesson schedule?"
“Good question. That's a sign on which floor your class will be held. A means first floor, B second floor and C third floor. If there is a minus like -A, you have to go down one floor, and so on," answered Minji eonni.
"Let's go west," said Daejung oppa leading the group.
We stopped for a moment in front of room 103 which has two floors.
"Behind room 103 there is room 205, room 307 and room 406. Don't worry, they all have no legs and don't have dungeons either," explained Minji Eonni, "let's move forward again."
We stopped in front of room 102 on our right and on our left, there was a tower that said West Tower 1.
"Behind the normal room 102 is the Northwest tower and greenhouse 306. Meanwhile, behind the West Tower 1 there is room 101 which you can't see from here. Let's follow this rocky road north," said Daejung oppa.
"Well, you can see the side of the building from room 102 to our right, to our left is room 203," explained Minji Eonni as we continued walking, "the entrance to the Northwest tower is on our right. Apart from classes, the Northwest tower on the eighth and ninth floors is used for the infirmary; on our left, room 204, as you can read. Go forward a little, on our right we enter greenhouse 306 and on our left we go to room 305. Well, this is Sinsol Tower."
Sinsol Tower looks just as beautiful as Chingeng Tower. It would also be fun to live in a tower.
"Later we'll see what's behind all these rooms, but we'll just take the snowy road from the front of room 203," decided Daejung oppa.
We walked back South and took the snowy road, off the rocky road. It took quite a hard fight against this fairly thick snow.
"This is room 203 on our right, and you have seen what rooms there are behind it when we went to Sinsol Tower earlier. On our left, there are room 202 and room 201," explained Minji Eonni.
We moved forward again and finally reached the front of the tower which said West Tower 2 on our right.
"On our right is West Tower 2, and behind it there are room 303, room 304 and room 405. On our left there is room 302 and room 301," Daejung oppa explained in turn, "let's move forward again,"
We continued walking on the snow and stopped in front of another Tower.
"To our right is West Tower 3 and behind it is room 402, greenhouse 403 and room 404. To our left but a little far away is room 401," Minji Eonni pointed to the left.
How big is Yoora? We have been walking west and still haven't found the school boundary. As I thought this, I could finally see the faint border of a thicket less than two meters high, not far from our front, but something else caught my attention.
"On our left is the blessed fountain, let's go in for a moment," said Daejung oppa.
Pornthip, Youngjae and Seunghoon were already running into the blessed fountain area. There is a four-story fountain in the middle of the garden whose floor is snowy dirt, and many long chairs are placed around the fountain. Pornthip sat on one of the benches and shook her legs, while Youngjae and Seunghoon admired the fountain.
“It's comfortable here, right? This is one of my favorite hangout places. Now you know where you can relax. When it's spring, the floors will all be made of dirt," said Minji Eonni proudly, "but we have to keep going. By the way, if you keep walking, that's already the western boundary of our school, so let's head north now.”
We turned right and were still walking through the snow. We stopped in front of a simple ancient building on our left.
“As you can see, to our right is West Tower 3 and room 402. This simple building to our left is the Teacher Dungeon. There are no name boards, indeed," explained Daejung oppa, "some of the teachers have offices in the dungeon. The most important thing for you to know is that Professor Lee Seungwoo is on the first floor of the dungeon and Professor Song Sunja is on the fourth floor of the dungeon. This area is also connected to the 4 floors of the dungeon, so the teacher's office is here, West Tower 3 and room 402. Let's continue."
I was curious what the teacher's office looked like, but of course I didn't dare to immediately visit their office. We headed north again and the area to our left caught our attention again.
"On our right, greenhouse 403 and room 404 and on our left, see this small river flowing? The river also runs through the park. We can look at the park for a moment," said Minji Eonni.
We entered the garden area which, just like the blessed fountain area, felt comfortable. The difference is, there are no fountains here, but there are lots of pots, trees whose leaves have all fallen off because of the winter, and several stone paths, as well as several recreational mats laid out on the snowy ground. I saw several small plant pots, some of the plants had strange shapes, some were just twigs, with the names of the students and their houses. It would definitely be nice to have a snack here once in a while. We advanced again towards the north. To our left was a building that looked similar to Gongjong Hall, but much smaller.
“This is Teacher Hall. Only one floor but there are seven rooms. Some of the teachers who teach you also have offices here," explained Daejung oppa, "if we continue, you could fall into a ravine. So our northern boundary is a cliff, so it's better for you not to go to the edges there, there's nothing interesting apart from you being able to see the sea. So we can turn east now.”
We walked along a small river where the water was very clear. It's quite a miracle that the river doesn't freeze in this cold weather.
"To our right is room 404, then room 405 and this is the gazebo area. Let's get through it," said Minji Eonni.
The gazebo area also looks attractive. In the middle of the area there was a clear pond with several Lotus flowers on it, which was not frozen, surrounded by ten small gazebos, which seemed to be able to accommodate at least ten people in each gazebo. I really like Yoora! We crossed the small bridge in the middle of the pond to get out of the gazebo area and continued east.
"We have passed the back of Sinsol Tower on our right," explained Daejung oppa, "this is the back of room 406. Then, on our left, is the Teacher Tower. It's not really high, there are only three floors. Several teachers have offices here.”
Compared to other towers, the Teacher Tower does look simpler and shorter, but it is still ancient and beautiful. We continued walking along the small river to the east.
"Look, we've arrived at the swapping area. Originally, this should be the back of room 407, room 408, room 409 and room 410. Does anyone want to check now, which rooms are here now?" Minji eonni offered.
Kyubong and Youngjae quickly ran, one to the right and one to the left. They came back quite quickly because they kept running around.
"The one on the right is room 310 and room 409," reported Kyubong.
"Room 410 didn't move, but instead room 409 was room 209," Youngjae reported with a frown.
"I told you they always move," laughed Daejung oppa, "well here, between the back of room 409 and room 410 there should be... there is the north lake. You guys can hang out here.”
We were busy wowing with views of the North Lake. Apparently the flow of the small river stopped at this lake, which, miraculously, also did not freeze. On the nearest side of the lake, many picnic mats were laid out, but we couldn't reach the other side because it seemed to be the ravine that Daejung oppa meant.
"At the end of the ravine, the lake is wide enough to prevent those of you who are curious from running to the other side. Don't try it," warned Minji Eonni, "just play here later. Let's move on. You guys will miss lunch today but you can have a snack at three o'clock.”
We have walked to the back of the spacious Gongjong Hall.
“This is Gongjong Hall. Gongjong's students live in a spacious hall that we often joke about as a guest house," laughed Daejung oppa, "but it looks comfortable, doesn't it? Not far in front of Gongjong Hall there is room 107 to the west and greenhouse 210 to the east. Later we can see the time we passing in front of it."
“We've passed,” Seunghoon whispered proudly.
We move forward and there is a huge area here before we come to the next building.
“On our right, Northeast Tower. There is a broadcasting extracurricular that is quite famous here, but I don't think they have recruited first graders in the first semester... the leader is Lee Songmin oppa from Sinsol. You'll be surprised how famous the DJs are at our school," laughed Minji Eonni, "they're on the twelfth floor. I guess it will start broadcasting tomorrow afternoon? Or Monday? Who knows. So, do you see to our left? This is our six-story library. Believe me everything is here. I think Daejung knows all the books by heart. Go forward a little, next to the northeast tower there is room 411."
"In sequence, in front of the northeast tower there are room 311, room 312, room 313 and in front of room 411 there is greenhouse 412, room 413 and room 414," explained Daejung oppa.
After passing the library, there was a huge snowy area.
"There is the eastern border, so we just turn south. Now look, this is the side of room 411 on our right, then greenhouse 412... and this tower is the owl tower. It's called the owl tower, but some of your other pets can also rest here. There are nine floors, quite spacious and lots of owls. And if we continue, this is the side of room 413," explained Minji Eonni.
I admired the Owl Tower, even though it was just a cage for owls and pets, the tower looked beautiful with medieval architecture, just like the library.
"This is the side of room 414 and if we go through this rocky road," said Daejung oppa, and it turns out we have met another rocky road, "this is the east tower and in front of it is room 415 and on our left this is..."
“Quidditch Stadium!” Huang Renxian exclaimed.
Several children were already running near the huge Quidditch stadium. We could see five tall stands around the stadium.
“The Quidditch season will start in May, but there will be auditions held in April and of course you are welcome to audition. Hopefully some of you will make the team... As far as I remember we lost 6 players because grade 7 was no longer allowed to play quidditch, and some also graduated last year," said Minji eonni.
"Come on, come on, or you'll miss your snack too," Daejung oppa needed to fend off several children who had lost control, "we'll just continue on the rocky road, so go back a little... now we've passed room 414 and the front of the east tower."
"This is to our right, room 313 and to our left, room 314, you can read the board," Minji Eonni pointed to the right and left.
“You see the tower on our left? Our neighbor, Chingeng Tower. Just like Sinsol, there are 8 floors in this tower. Later, we'll pass in front of it," explained Daejung oppa, "after all, there is a rocky road that connects our dormitory and Chingeng, if you pay attention to the rocky road in front of our dormitory you can continue east."
"This one is greenhouse 210 and on the left is room 211. We've actually finished. This is the intersection which, if we go right, leads to Gongjong Hall. Come on, let's look at it for a moment," said Minji Eonni.
We followed the cobblestone path and visited the front of Gongjong Hall, the path we used this morning. After that, we followed our two prefects towards the South.
"On our right is the side of room 107. We continue south... there is room 211, you can see on our left, then on our right, you know it well, the surface building of our Chaeksong Dungeon... and the rocky road ends at the South border, turn left... the entrance to Chingeng Tower," explained Daejung oppa at length.
The students chattered and admired Chingeng Tower.
“This means our tour is over and snack time is almost starting. You guys are hungry, aren't you?” Minji eonni asked.
"I'm weak, eonni," complained Pornthip, which was agreed by the other students.
Daejung oppa laughed again, “I understand you guys ate a lot while growing up. Let's go in through the surface, then into the main hall through the bottom. You guys definitely want to try that route too.”
Seunghoon and Youngjae excitedly ran to Chaeksong Dungeon, making Daejung oppa laugh again. We all walked west towards Chaeksong Dungeon.
"Eonni, Yoora is really big, right, and it's really hard to memorize all the buildings. Why doesn't Yoora provide some kind of map?" Jiwoo asked curiously.
“For security reasons, actually. We never know who wants to do evil and what if they know all of Yoora's locations on a map?" Minji Eonni asked back, "go for walks often and I'm sure you'll quickly memorize it. Daejung is the fastest memorizer among us, not even one semester in the first grade, he is no longer lost. Jungeun and Ilsung, your two oppas (Minji Eonni glanced at me for a moment and laughed) once caused chaos by disappearing somewhere several times, even when they were in second grade. I think in their second grade was just on purpose. We already know their tricks and Professor Lee Seungwoo said he would arrest them if they pretend to disappear again.”
The three of us and Daejung oppa who was walking beside me laughed too.
“Sogogi!” Seunghoon shouted loudly and immediately jumped under the Cerberus with agility.
"There's no need to shout keywords that loudly, Seunghoon," said Daejung oppa, laughing.
One by one the students entered and I entered after Kyubong. The common room was a bit empty, I saw there were only a few children in the common room sitting relaxing on the sofa.
“Just finished the tour?” asked a handsome male student who was lying on a round sofa.
"Yeah," replied Minji eonni, "don't you eat snacks, Jihu? I don't think I've ever seen you miss snack time."
“Oh yeah, it's about time huh. Do they want to go there too?”
I glanced at the large clock above the fireplace which showed almost ten minutes past three.
"Yes, we will also go there, we want to take them downstairs," answered Daejung oppa.
"Let's go there together then."
“Oh yeah, when are you guys going to start broadcasting? First grade, he is Yook Jihu, one of our announcers. Now he's in third grade," Minji Eonni introduced.
“Hello, first grade, I'm Yook Jihu, third grade. We'll start broadcasting Monday at lunch time. Kim Sooyeon will broadcast first. Later, those of you who are interested in auditioning to join the broadcasting extracurricular, just contact me. Chaeksong has a lot of broadcasters though. Oh, you guys…”
Jihu oppa pointed at me and Jiwoo, then pointed at Daejung oppa.
Daejung oppa laughed, “my sister, Kim Soyoon, and yes, you're right, this is Park Jiwoo. Looks a lot like Kyungok noona, right?”
Jihu oppa also laughed, “that's right, hyung. Well, your oppa and eonni are also broadcasters."
"Who? Jungeun oppa?” I widened my eyes imagining Jungeun oppa doing something serious.
I can understand Kyungok eonni, but Jungeun oppa?
“Yes, Jungeun hyung. You'd be surprised he can broadcast so well. Ah, let's go to the main hall, my stomach is hungry. Come on, go out that door."
As if a prefect, Jihu oppa ordered the first graders to come forward. I'm still confused no one told me that Jungeun oppa was a DJ at school. I followed Sarang to exit the unfamiliar door. Behind this door was an empty corridor, but thankfully it wasn't too dark because there were lots of torches on the walls.
"If you can remember the directions well," said Daejung oppa who stopped in front of a hallway on our left after walking forward about two meters, "this hallway on the left means we are going east, a hallway that leads us directly to the kitchen. If we continue for about five meters, there will be 4 hallways on the right, the first hallway leads you into room 107 on dungeon floor A, then successively the next hallway takes you to dungeon room 106, room 105, and greenhouse 104. In these small hallways there are stairs that can take you down or up the dungeon. Now we go left."
We all walked close together following the steps of Daejung oppa, Minji eonni and Jihu oppa. Suddenly our path was blocked by a large door.
“This is the door that leads to the kitchen. Actually, Yoora's house elf is very kind. If you are hungry, you can ask them for a snack. But don't disturb them too often, let them rest," Minji Eonni reminded, "Jungeun and Ilsung come here too often. Just leave them to it."
"Are your oppas some kind of troublemaker?" Seunghoon asked innocently.
Jiwoo and I just looked at each other, not knowing how to answer Seunghoon.
"We go right," said Jihu oppa.
We passed through a narrow hallway that only fit three people and climbed a fairly short stone staircase. I could recognize it as the stairs in the front hall of the main hall.
"We have arrived! Let us eat!" invite Daejung oppa.
“Thank you for the tour Daejung oppa, Minji eonni and Jihu oppa!” I said cheerfully.
Jihu oppa scratched his head while smiling. We entered the room which was apparently quite busy with students eating snacks. As soon as I sat down, I immediately pulled the crème brulee towards me. Skipping lunch apparently makes me very hungry. I glanced at Gongjong's table and neither Youngmin nor Minsu were there yet.
“So,” said Pornthip who was sitting to my right, pulling a crème brulee too, “Where are we going to spend the afternoon? Let's invite Youngmin and Minsu too once they show up."
"How about going to the blessed fountain?" I suggested.
"May also. I just agree. Let's enjoy our weekend before lessons start," said Seunghoon who was sitting in front of me.
Yes, that's right, no matter what, let's just enjoy my days at Yoora School.
